Who We Are
Founded in July 1980 by four Independent Pharmacists in BC, Unipharm was created to deliver a fair, equitable wholesale solution for independent pharmacies—regardless of size or volume. That purpose still guides us.
Unipharm supports independent pharmacies across British Columbia, Alberta, and the Yukon with reliable wholesale distribution and pharmacist-focused service. We exist to strengthen independent pharmacy—today and for the long term.
Operating from our distribution centre in Richmond, BC, we are built for consistency: dependable product availability, responsive support, and a partner mindset that understands the realities of running an independent pharmacy.
What We Do
Unipharm Wholesale Drugs Ltd. is a full-line, full-service wholesaler distributing:
- Pharmaceuticals and OTC products
- Home health care
- Health & beauty aids
- Confectionery, private label, seasonal and promotional programs

Primary Pharmacy Account
Unipharm pharmacies participate through a Primary Pharmacy Account, with the option to become a Unipharm Shareholder. Shareholders help shape Unipharm’s direction through an elected Board and a cooperative governance model.
Leadership
Unipharm is led by Pindy Janda, CEO, a seasoned pharmaceutical industry executive with comprehensive knowledge of the independent pharmacy and wholesale landscape. She actively advocates for Unipharm and its Primary Pharmacies—strengthening partnerships, championing independent pharmacy, and ensuring Unipharm delivers consistent value, service, and long-term sustainability.

Corporate Responsibility
Giving back is part of who we are. Through the Unipharm & Medicine Centre Pharmacies Charitable Foundation (UMC Charity), Primary Pharmacies can access funding to support charitable initiatives in their local communities across BC, Alberta, and the Yukon.
